🍹 Is A Fiat Punto A Good First Car

I'm considering a 2007 Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 Dynamic (Petrol) with 30,000 miles on the clock for my first car, due to its fairly good looks, low insurance group and low price (£4,500). However Fiats have a reputation for being unreliable- is this reputation deserved or should I avoid the Grande Punto altogether? the punto was always a good car so was the chinky and then the sissy some were bad ie bravo overall fiat cars have good responsive engines ,but, poor electrics and in the old days bad bodies theres a lot of bad feedback because a lot of fiats have been company/hire cars that have been clocked by large amounts I also have a problem starting the car in the morning. It sounds like the battery is flat, but I have had the battery tested at a couple of places and they say the battery is fine but it is just flat, something is obviously causing the battery to go flat overnight. The car has a good run during the day as I am travelling about 40 miles every day. Hey everyone, so title basically says it all, Is Fiat Grande Punto any good for a first car? I just turned 18 and I have to get my first car, I have a budget around 3500$ and Fiat Grande Punto has cached my eye, Do you guys think this car is good for a first car or should I look for something else? They have adorned my computer screen as wallpapers - both at home and office. A major influence of these beauties is because of my affection for movies from US and Europe. So when the opportune time for my first car came by, there were no two thoughts about the origins of the car. Im learning to drive and i have about 1% knowledge about cars. Ive asked a friend (who thinks he knows 110% about cars) and says that fiats are unreliable i thought ill ask the people who own them and see what you have to say, are they good? a good first car? Im edging to go for a 2000 I've been running a 1.3MJ 90 for about 18 months now and overall the car is good the turbo lag is much worse on the 90 than the 75 but you learn to drive around it and the economy comes nowhere near to fiats claims (maybe as a result of driving around the turbo lag) I ran a 307 2.0 HDI 110 before and the economy was about the same. Engines are for the most part reliable, but problems have been reported with the cooling system, which can lead to reliability and long-term wear issues. In particular problems with the engine’s GM4Q.
